Holiday house “La Gare de Barse”
“La Gare de Barse” is an exceptional holiday house for 6 to 8 guests in a former train station. It is situated in the village of Marchin, in the beautiful valley of the Hoyoux river, between Modave and Huy. It was built in 1865 en is still largely authentical, with its old counter windows and forged iron “marquise”. Within the original setting of this unique property, “la Gare de Barse”, has been stylishly renovated into a comfortable and luxurious guesthouse.
The old railway was reconstructed as part of the RAVeL, a network of walking and bridle paths throughout the Walloon Region. Its central position on the crossing of the RAVeL, the GR-trail and several mapped-out walking routes, offers a great possibility to explore the marvelous surroundings, by foot or by bike. Even more, the RAVeL is particularly suited to walk, with a stroller or a wheelchair, throughout the beautiful valley, discovering the numerous little waterfalls of the Hoyoux river, some abandoned stone quarries and several old railway relics.
